muschiosauro To my ears, most of this record sounds like a freakier, psycher version of the freakiest and psychiest moments in Jethro Tull's early 70s output, and that's pretty brilliant.
And then, the whole is wonderfully enhanced by intertwining female vocals, with the lead singer shining supreme with a performance that is both earthy and spellbinding, sunny and rainy. "Fluid" stands on its own and it's an absolute, rousing banger. The kind of album I could listen to for hours. (And probably will.) Favorite track: Fluid.

Do you stand by my side out of love or from fear? Tread on the bones of the ones who left here I'll take three sacred words and I'll make this house safe Clutching your fingertips right to the grave Take three steps forward, miss a turn Stop your game and watch it burn Here on the moon It's true that I wanted you all to myself You washed the bowl, put it back on the shelf No traces of arsenic here will you find Protector, my sister, you've always been kind Take three steps forward, miss a turn Stop your game and watch it burn Covered in ash, our empire in ruins Now the only place for us, girl, is here on the moon The deadliest nightshade is fully in bloom Creeps up like ivy and covers our room Miles from the others and miles from our sins And yet the outside is still creeping in
2.
Fluid 03:47
You're not a person made of shelves You are fluid That You does not exist anymore Survives yet self-destructs A dichotomy Deferring pain through vice You can't lie to yourself No good at secrets The clues present themselves Be true! You only have the NOW! Don't think about it! Enjoy yourself!
3.
Don't be the man who sweeps it under Don't keep your sadness under cover It doesn't have to be okay Don't save it for a rainy day Nothing hurt and everything was beautiful It doesn't work You have to feel it all I know why the mockingbird sings And why the magpie brings me shiny, shiny things Nursery rhymes, pearls and shells Distractions from their homemade hell Denial is a river, you see Escape away from you and me From whiskey boat to nightcap sea Too hard and drunk to swim upstream
4.
You tried to give me the moon A crimson flower in bloom Your arms were so big and so wide She pulled me deep inside her tide "The moon's not yours to give!" You cried through blood-red tears Pretty little liar, you were the master of smoke & mirrors Jesse, your ghost is fading Crucified, deceased, decaying Jesse, no more hauntings Exiled from my dreams Joined up the lines From dots to dots A thinly-veiled plot Cause you never thought you'd get caught Silence is the loudest sound It makes me want to shout Banging like a jungle drum That led me to your hideout Now you're dead to me
5.
St Vitus 04:20
Round and round and round we go Like tree seeds on the breeze Sinners it is time to pay and set your demons free Round and round and round we go St. Vitus sings his curse Holy wrath has gripped our hearts and tossed them in the hearse The folly of dance it calls to us It makes us pay our dues And there shall be no escape From red and bloody shoes Ashes to ashes Piper to drum Tap your sister The dancing plague has come They'll put us on display The power of suggestions says that you could die this way Have you sinned Have you wronged, could you cast a stone Come and join with bells on limbs and dance your skin to bones Shrinking violets Black-eyed susans Daisy, rose and thorns Flowers waltzing to their grave Their petals bruised and torn

I know we move in cycles I know we all have rhythm And you're not one to miss a beat Sometimes you don't mind calling My door is always open But yours are tired and angry feet You wax, you wane You act insane Singing a different tune The tide's come in You get the bends Under a full wolf moon Your friendships are paperchains Cut up with knives and blades Blacking out your window pane It doesn't have to be this hard FFS we all love you But only you can stop the pain --- I try to keep things nonchalant Keep my distance at the door Hoist up the occasional smile But behind my teeth are oceans filled with shipwrecks Drowned sailors and fish bones I drag them all behind me Take long walks in the city Make art from the things I would pick up Rusty nails, tyres, bashed in car doors Collections of transgressions done against me Mounted in colour, shape and form Patterns emerge and I'm up to my eyes in it A whale surfaces and swallows me whole And I, like Jonah, become reborn Cut away long-term friends Howl at my mom Blame it on a full wolf moon In the end its frenzy tears everything apart Rubs salt in the same old wounds again and again You'd think I'd be familiar with its colour and texture by now But I've decided to be alone I don't get hurt nor does anyone else Just look at me, my life, I could've been so much more Blame it on a full wolf moon

White Door 04:56
It's late summer, we parted in spring And yet when I play you're still all I sing I'm outside your door, won't you let me in? It's raining, I'm pouring and drowning in gin Repeating your name because you're on mind again The music, the madness, your bedroom, our sins I'm cracking, I'm the first one to admit It's not my fault, you're too hard to quit Swam against the current, I flew without wings Turns out rejection ain't really my thing White Door, why don't you welcome me no more?
8.
Doldrums 07:35
Today, I feel like I am drifting away Where is my anchor, where is my dry land? The sky's clouded over, the waves look the same I look to the sky, I welcome the rain Today I feel like I'm a million miles away From the life I tried so very hard to create Sometimes the change is too much to take Changing a noun to a verb in our break I keep on hearing that I am so strong I've got the skills to carry on Credit's not due, who do you see? Look a bit closer; I'm struggling I know in good time I will find a way And you'll have your place too, that's just how it works A light in the darkness is all that I ask Some hope that in time this storm will pass Give me strength
